WELCOME
Dear Reader, thanks for stopping by my fancy official site. Please feel free to check out my debut novel, read a bit about how I started out in the world of writing, or get in touch and ask me my favourite Netflix show or breed of cat…
I promise I’ll respond.

ABOUT ME
Obsessed with storytelling. Devout consumer of books. Snacker of savoury snacks. I’m also a journalist and author of YA novel Half My Luck (through the legends at HarperCollins). I started my writing career in teen magazines and have returned to this beloved audience, now writing for Aussie teens in novel form.
HALF MY LUCK

From the winner of the inaugural Matilda Prize comes a heartwarming coming-of-age story about growing up in Australia when you're caught between two cultures.
Layla Karimi has been cursed by the evil eye.
Well, that's what Layla's superstitious grandmother tells her. And Layla reckons it makes sense as she's sort of Australian and sort of Lebanese: a 'halfie' who doesn't really fit into either world.

SCHOOL VISITS
Ask anyone, I absolutely love talking. Once Half My Luck hits stands I’ll happily come to your school and talk (and talk) about it – as well as chat about themes of cultural identity, finding your tribe and what I wish I could tell Teenage Samera.
